ALBANY PERMIT CENTER INSTRUCTIONS

The Albany Permit Center is the City’s electronic plan check system which allows you to submit a permit application online and upload plans for plan review. By submitting your plans in an electronic format (PDF), most of the cost associated with paper plans is eliminated and you can stay updated on the progress of your project. Click here for instructions.

Currently the Planning, Building, Engineering and Fire Departments are accepting electronic plans through the Permit Portal.

When a permit is purchased, it is the Applicants responsibility to contact our office and arrange the for required inspections and access to what is being inspected. Inspections can be requested through email @inspections@albanyga.gov or through the permit portal where you purchased the permit. Permits that have not been inspected within six months will change from an Issued status to a Void status. To reactivate the permit you will need to pay the Full permit fee again. Please call for the required inspections.

Please remember that replacement windows are required to meet the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code for Solar Heat Gain. The windows are shipped with stickers attached. Please do not remove these stickers until after you call for your final inspection and it has been approved. If the stickers are removed we cannot verify the correct windows have been installed and will result in the inspection failing.
